Following widespread suffering by Nigerians, Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) has enjoined political leaders at all levels of governance to recognise the urgency of the economic challenges facing the nation and take concrete action in providing support for individuals facing economic hardship.

President of CAN, Archbishop Daniel Okoh who made this known in his message to Christians on Ash Wednesday/Lent, urged Nigerians to come together in solidarity and commitment to create a more inclusive and compassionate society where the burdens of the marginalised are alleviated and their voices are heard.

The cleric charged Christians to embrace a spirit of understanding, empathy, and service to others as they embark on this season of Lent.
