Ariaria Market: Our Priority Is To Have A Dubai In Aba – Developer

The Developer, Ariaria International Market Remodelling Project and Managing Director of Blessed Henken International Company Ltd, Engr. Henry Okoroafor, has said that his team is working hard to build a Dubai in Aba by channeling resources towards the completion of the remodeling of Aba in record time.

Speaking on Saturday while conducting journalists round the magnificent project with modern state of the arts facility, including fire sprinkling system, fire proof doors, elevators, motor parks, steady power supply among others, Engr. Okoroafor, revealed that after spending 25 years in China, he saw a perfect working system, a country that believes in healthy competition, adding that his quest to replicate the feat in Aba, particularly Ariaria made him and his company approach Abia Government for a loan to assist in remodelling Ariaria.

Engr. Okoroafor, revealed that the project so far has engaged over 500 workers aimed at delivering the project in record time, stating the intention of his company and his Chinese team to remodel Aba, the commercial nerve centre of Abia State just as he said that if the remolding of Ariaria is completed, investors would run to Aba which will eventually lead to massive development of the State.

He said the project which commenced in October 2021 under a Public Private Partnership (PPP) arrangement is intended to remodel Ariaria to look better than Lagos, noting that such level of healthy competition is needed in the country to ensure that there is massive development in all the sectors of the economy.

In his words, Okoroafor said, “Having spent 25 years in China, studying the level of development, I decided to come home, to see how my State could look better than Lagos or Abuja. Without this level of healthy competition, I don’t think we can make any headway in terms of infrastructural development. We expect that at the conclusion of the project, Ariaria will be talked about all over the country”.

Okoroafor re-emphazised that his Chinese team is assisting in funding the project, adding that the project which has sped up since the current Governor Alex Otti led State government, is also working towards making Aba better than Lagos or Abuja within the period of seven years as well as maintain the city for 20 years.

He stated that as a business man, he also has profit making in mind which is why his team from China is out to remodel Aba and make it attractive for investors in order to shore up the revenue base of Abia State.

He told newsmen that the remodelled shops are affordable and goes for N5m which can be paid instalmentally, revealing that there was an offer for traders who cannot afford to pay the money once to access a loan package from United Bank for Africa, but regretted that the traders also went to court to block such window of opportunity.

Okoroafor said apart from the initial misunderstanding between his company and the previous administration had in the MoU, there is no challenge in completing the project in record time, pointing out that currently, they have completed 4, 200 shops in the space of 3 years.

He charged Abians to continue to support them as they work towards achieving a Dubai in Aba, stressing that on completion, they don’t need to travel abroad or any other part of the country for their shopping as it can be done here in Aba.

Some of the occupants of the new shops including: Francis Okachukwu (Frankman shoes), Mentus (Parripa Jewelries), Mrs. Amaka Obinani (Jack Resources Nigerian Ltd), lauded the Developer of the shops, Engr. Henry Okoroafor for doing a good job, stressing that they are better doing business in the new remodelled shops just as they told the press that the customers also feel at home with the serenity of the entire environment.

Customers, including Maureen Anaboya, Chinaza Charles, among others, said they love the new remodelled shops, adding that it is comfortable and secured.
