The Nigerian Navy has refuted reports that the Chief of Naval Staff, CNS, Vice Admiral Emmanuel Ogalla, accepted over $170 million in bribes and was also involved in multi-billion naira contract splitting fraud in the last six months.

Responding in a statement on Saturday, the Naval spokesman, Rear Admiral AO Ayo-Vaughan, described the publications as baseless and untrue.

He insisted that the reports were sponsored by oil thieves and disgruntled elements.
